Our climate action is guided by our core values and a commitment to reducing our environmental footprint. Since 2015, we have been measuring and offsetting all direct emissions (scope 1 & 2) and indirect emissions (material scope 3) across our global operations. We are continually enhancing our climate strategy, focusing on improving reduction measures and minimizing impact throughout our operations.

To decrease emissions from our global operations and advance towards a future free from fossil fuels, we are working towards ensuring that all our spaces operate on renewable energy by 2023. Additionally, we promote active transport and climate-friendly lifestyles. We have implemented initiatives such as superannuation divestment, composting, and landfill diversion in our business operations. In 2019, we introduced recycled PET (rPET) into our packaging, supporting curbside recycling and reducing emissions associated with the production of virgin PET plastic. The lightweight nature of this material also helps to cut emissions related to freight.

JAO is a signatory to the ‘Business Ambition for 1.5°C: Our Only Future’ pledge, committing to set a science-based target to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
