Do JAO SPF protective products contain chemical sunscreen filters and preservatives associated with coral bleaching?
The UV filters used in our sunscreen products have a well-established safety record. We confirm that our Sun Care formulations are free from chemical sunscreen filters and preservatives linked to coral bleaching, such as PABA, Octinoxate, Oxybenzone, 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor, and Butylparaben.
These filters have been rigorously tested not only through our internal research but also through thorough safety and toxicological evaluations by regulatory bodies in Australia, Europe, and other regions, proving them to be safe for use in SPF products. Most of the ingredients in our sunscreen are biodegradable or readily biodegradable as per OECD guidelines.
Our Protective Body Lotion SPF50 and Protective Facial Lotion SPF25 include two UV filters—Octocrylene and Avobenzone—which have limited biodegradability. However, there is no evidence indicating that these effective sunscreen ingredients harm aquatic life or water systems.
