What materials do JAO utilise in its packaging?
At JAO, we use a range of materials for our packaging, carefully chosen to balance various factors such as functionality, environmental impact, and regulatory compliance.
**Aluminium**
We often select aluminium for its versatility and environmental benefits. It is infinitely recyclable, which aligns with our commitment to reducing environmental impact. Many of our products are packaged in aluminium tubes, offering convenient, lightweight, and controlled dispensing, ideal for travel.
**Amber-Coloured Glass**
Amber-coloured glass is favored for its inert nature, which ensures it does not interact with the contents, and its UV protection, which helps minimize the need for preservatives. Where possible, we use glass made from recycled content.
**Plastic**
Our choice to use plastic is made with careful consideration, balancing our packaging principles with the material's practical benefits. We use recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (rPET), which is durable, lightweight, and ideal for travel or wet environments. Our plastic bottles are made with at least 97% recycled content sourced from post-consumer recycling. By partnering with suppliers, we help create demand for recycled PET, supporting circular systems and reducing waste.
**Paper & Cardboard**
For retail product packaging, we use recyclable paper and cardboard certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) or the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). These certifications ensure that materials are responsibly sourced. For more information, visit fsc.org, and pefc.org.
