The peppermint plant a perennial herb that can grow to 3 feet in height. It has hairy leaves with serrated edges and spiked purple flowers, and spreads by way of its underground runners. Not only is peppermint oil one of the oldest European herbs used for medicinal purposes, other historical accounts date its use to ancient Japanese and Chinese folk medicine.Peppermint is known for its high menthol content (50-60 percent) and menthone (10–30 percent). Menthol crystals sometimes form right on the leaves. The many peppermint oil uses have been documented back to 1,000 B.C. and have been found in several Egyptian pyramids.

1 drop + 1Tbsp carrier oil
diffuse 1-2 drops 30 minutes max

3 drops + 1 Tbsp carrier oil
6 drops + 1 oz carrier oil

12 drops + 1 oz carrier oil
